What changes will you be making in response to COVID-19?

Elf Acres will be making a number of changes in response to the COVID-19 virus in an effort to keep our visitors healthy while still enjoying time with your family at our venue. For those who prefer to park their cars and get out in our Santa’s Village area, here is what you can expect:
  • We will be following social distancing guidelines for all lines at Santa’s Photoshop, concession stands and merchandise stands. We will ask that you try to maintain 6′ distancing between you and other families when possible. Fortunately, most of Santa’s Village walk around area is outside open air which the CDC states is safer than indoor facilities, but please continue to be safe and follow CDC guidelines so we can all be happy and healthy this season!
  • We will ask that you wear a face covering or mask when it is not possible to maintain 6′ or more social distancing.Children under 10 years old are not required to wear a mask.
  • We will have a hand washing and sanitizing station installed by the restrooms for your use.
  • We will have several hand sanitizing stations available located around Santa’s Village including Santa’s photoshop, the concession and merchandise stand areas, by the restrooms as well as other areas.
  • We will be elevating our sanitation procedures in all areas including cleaning & disinfecting frequently touched surfaces.
  • We will have clear protective shields installed in the concession and merchandise stand areas where ordering and payment lines form.
  • We will monitor all Elf Acres and concession booth staff before each work shift by taking temperatures and requiring that they do not come to work if they are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19.
  • We recommend arriving early or at off peak times to avoid the days where the highest crowds are expected. Off peak days are generally expected to be Mon-Thurs, except for the week of Christmas which is generally quite busy every day.

What are your Hours of Operation?

Elf Acres is open EVERY NIGHT including all holidays from November 13th thru December 30th. We will be open Sunday-Thursday from 6:30PM-10:00PM and Friday-Saturday from 6:30PM-11:00PM.

How long does it take to go thru the Trail of LIghts?

It typically takes around 20-25 minutes to drive thru our trail of lights. When you are finished driving thru, you may park your car, get out and walk around in our Santa’s Village where you will have unlimited time to enjoy more lights and displays, Santa’s Photoshop, get some yummy treats from our concession stands and shop light up toys and gifts!

Will Santa be at Elf Acres every night this season?


Santa will be there every night this season from Friday Nov 13th thru Christmas Eve on Dec 24th. Then he will have lots of presents to deliver and head back up North for a nice long rest.

Can we see Santa if we don’t buy a photo?

Yes, absolutely! You may visit with Santa regardless of whether you buy a photo or not, however if you would like to buy one, a 5×7 will be available for $10.

Will I still be allowed to drive thru the venue if I arrive after closing?

As long as you are in line by closing time, you will be allowed to drive thru the venue and also enter our Santa’s Village area where you can walk around.

How do I get to Elf Acres?


Look for the big LED Elf Acres sign over the entrance then follow the lights down the drive and into our venue!

From downtown San Antonio:

  • Take Hwy 90 W.
  • Then take 1604 N heading towards Sea World.
  • Turn left on Potranco Rd and go 1.5 miles.
  • Turn left on Grosenbacher Rd by Walgreens.
  • Drive 3/4 mile and turn right into Elf Acres.

From North San Antonio:

  • take 1604 W heading towards Sea World.
  • Turn right on Potranco Rd and go 1.5 miles.
  • Turn left on Grosenbacher Rd by Walgreens.
  • Drive 3/4 mile and turn right into Elf Acres.

From South San Antonio:

  • take 1604 N heading towards Sea World.
  • Turn left on Potranco Rd and go 1.5 miles.
  • Turn left on Grosenbacher Rd by Walgreens.
  • Drive 3/4 mile and turn right into Elf Acres.

What are your vehicle size requirements?

Please no vehicles over 9′ tall or 18′ long. No buses, shuttle vans, RVs, trailers or limos.

Will Elf Acres remain open if it rains?

Yes. We will remain open rain or shine. In cases where it is raining extremely heavy or in cases of severe thunderstorms, we may temporarily close if roads are unsafe to drive on. In these cases, please call ahead or check our Facebook page for updates.

If I don’t use all 3 visits available on my Fun Pass, will you honor it next year?

Yes. We will honor any unused visits on 2020 Fun Passes that are purchased or you may let friends or family use it if you prefer.Just save your Fun Pass for next year!

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets are available for purchase online by clicking the Book Online Now button below, or at our ticket booth. You may buy a one night admission to our venue for $30/vehicle or a Fun Pass that is valid for 3 times thru for $60/vehicle. Prices include admission thru our Trail of Lights, entry into Santa’s Village AND sales tax.

Do you allow pets at Elf Acres?


We do allow pets to ride along with you while you’re in your vehicle driving thru our trail of lights, but due to liability reasons, we do not allow pets in our Santa’s Village area (area where you can park your car and walk around).

If I buy a ticket online, is it only valid for that day?


No. All tickets purchased on our website are valid for any day during this season. For example, if you book for a Tuesday and can’t come that night, no worries! Come any other day this season and your QR code sent to you in the confirmation email will still be valid! For open times, please see our hours of operation on our home page.
